Each point is an inhabited GHSL cell. Green = more people in 2025 than 2000; pink = fewer. Uninhabited cells are left blank (basemap gray). Built at 30 arc-sec for a browser-friendly tileset; the classic 3 arc-sec maps are a larger offline rebuild.
Same visual idea as the well-known GHSL settlement-change maps: every inhabited grid cell is either growing or shrinking. Cities light up green; emptying countryside and post-industrial belts show pink. Zoom in — tiles stream from a single PMTiles archive.
